This book is the first implant book written by Dr. Young-sam Kim, covering the history of implants, criterias for choosing implants, and various cases in one volume. In addition, the author describes each cases directly and clearly in a unique style with his implant philosphy (Easy, Simple, Safe, Efficient, ESSE).

Also, as can be seen from the title of ‘Dr. Youngsam Kim's clinical notes’, various elements such as points to be emphasized in each case, disappointing points, and behind-the-scenes stories are arranged to arouse readers' interest and make it possible to go over the core of each case. In addition, clinical photos and illustrations over the flow of treatment are included to help easily understand over the actual clinical flow.

Although this book is an implant-specialized book, it has an autobiographical tendency in that it contains the author’s dental hisotry intact. This is expected to be helpful not only to practitioners who start implants for the first time, but also to experienced clinicians who could have a grasp of the author’s experience realistically and apply the experience usefully in actual clinical practice.

    I bought this book because I was intrigued to see what the author had to offer. Dr. Young-Sam Kim is a world-renowned dentist from South Korea. He's had his practice in Gangnam (Beverly Hills of Korea) for over 20 years.

    The wealth of his clinical experience did not disappoint me. Rather than being another boring textbook, this book is more of a series of anecdotes from Dr. Kim's clinical experience related to implants. This makes the book so fun and easy to read, even though it carries an abundance of information.

    This is such a thorough book that covers all the aspects of implant dentistry you must know as a clinician-- it describes the history of implants, the choice of implants, implant position/angulation/depth, soft tissue management, implant abutment and crowns, and most importantly, cases of implant failure. What I really like about the book is that Dr. Kim is so honest about his actual clinical experiences. He describes not only the cases he's done well but also areas he wishes he had done better. Because Dr. Kim has been practicing in the same office for a long time, he was able to follow up on cases over the years and learn why cases worked and why some others have failed.

    This book is simply invaluable. He happily shares precious information that you would not have known without years of hands-on implant experience. I'm actually almost hesitant to post this review because it's a book that I wish only I knew about!

    Some may not want to admit, but US is not the leader of implant dentistry. I did think US was, until I read this book and taken his courses. Want to realize "All-on-4" etc is really a thing of the past? Want to realize that you do not need long implants to feel good about? Want to remind yourself that basics is the most important aspect of implant dentistry, and all this can be done the most simplest and predictable way possible? This book is where you will start. As long as you do not have this stuck up mind of "What I learned from these (so called) prestigious courses that I paid $100,000 is the best and I will not listen to what others say", you will learn tons of things that other country did all the work for you. It is like you will be riding a time machine to get a look of where implant in US will eventually head towards.
